EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT INDICATORS

What evidence is available to support the inclusion of the indicators?

EXAMPLES FROM CASE STUDY:

Limerick City of Learning

  • Benefits identified are broad-based (not just education-linked)

  • Links between all these dimensions (as to the value of learning) are understood and demonstrated

  • Review broader regional development strategies to determine influence of LR strategy

Very broadly-based outcome indicators were agreed. These covered expected benefits in terms of:

  • “Creating a spark for Learning” – enthusiasm amongst relevant institutions
  • Giving children and young people the best start in life
  • Fostering a thriving and inclusive city,  and
  • Promoting Quality Learning Environments
